ABOUT
Hello and welcome!
My name is Kaila, and I have been drawing inspiration from the beautiful and wild natural world of BC for as along as I can remember.
Lucky enough to have grown up spending all my summers fishing and living in Port Renfrew (Pacheedaht traditional lands), a rural fishing community on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, these early experiences with nature have left a lasting impact on me and has informed the work that I do today.
I enjoy creating detailed and vibrant pieces that capture the essence of the specimens depicted, intending to evoke the same passion in the viewer that inspires me to create them.
Working primarily with watercolour pigments and mediums, I pour my heart and soul into every creation.
Due to the intense effort it takes me to perfect and finish each piece, you will find high quality prints (100lb cardstock) of my art in store for sale, unless I am working on a custom order in which case the customer will retain the original.
The inspiration that our beautiful coast draws is abundant and emanates through so many amazing artists and creatives who call our province home. I am constantly in awe of the work of many others in the art community, and believe that sharing this passion only serves to amplify the rich tapestry of creativity that surrounds us.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my store and allowing me to introduce myself, I invite you to browse the collection and hope you find a piece that resonates with you.
Please visit my Custom Art page for details on commissioned pieces and customization options.
Your support means the world to me, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or simply to share your thoughts.
Warm regards, and tight lines!
